  • Show the DWG properties as an Infotip (tooltip) in Explorer or even from file dialog boxes within AutoCAD.

The following download is a freeware version that also can be used for trial purpose. Only the DWG version and title shows. The full version will show all properties.

DwgInfoTip can be downloaded and installed as an app from the Autodesk Exchange Apps site. Purchase is also available through this site.

If purchase has been done via Autodesk Exchange Apps the download is available on the Autodesk Exchange Apps My Downloads page. Sign in with the same account used when purchasing.

System requirements

Only DWG files in 2007, 2010 and 2014 file format shows property information. If there is need to support older DWG versions let us know. DWG 2007 is created by AutoCAD 2007 up to 2009 including verticals as well as other DWG compatible software. DWG 2010 is created by AutoCAD 2010, AutoCAD 2011 and AutoCAD 2012 based applications. DWG 2013 created by AutoCAD 2013, AutoCAD 2014 and AutoCAD 2015.

This works with DWG files edited with applications like Dassault Systemes DraftSight, Caddie, progeCAD, Bricsys BricsCAD, IMSI TurboCAD, GRAPHISOFT ArchiCAD, nanoCAD, MicroStation, ZWCAD+ and others.

Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. 32-bit or 64-bit.

Windows 2000, Windows XP might also work but are not supported.

When you purchase with PayPal you can use your credit card or bank account where available. You will be emailed the license (this is done manually but normally within 24 hours). If you want to purchase for example 15 licenses add first 10 to the chart and then add 5.

If you have a really many users that you want to give access to this software we can discuss a discounted price based on your particular situation. Educational discounts available. Network license needs can be met.

The license is perpetual and support is included.

PayPal, share-it, Mastercard/Eurocard, Visa, American Express, and Diner's Club online are accepted. Alternatively, there is support for bank transfer/wire transfer, or Checks and Money Orders through postal mail. Online transfers via giropay and Nordea Solo are also supported. Refund policy.

DwgInfoTip can also be downloaded, installed and purchased as an app from the Autodesk Exchange Apps site.



To install run setup .exe.

Administrator rights are needed to install.

After installation log out and log in from Windows if the tooltip does not show up.

It may be needed to run either of the below files and merge to the registry too.

InfoTipReg current user 64-bit.reg


Use DWGPROPS within AutoCAD and populate with information.


PROPULATE can be used to automatically populate for example attribute information from the title block into the properties. See this PROPULATE tutorial.
